Went here for a work night out. We were a large party and seated on three long tables. Food was excellent although I feel a little pricey. Waitress service was OK but somewhat slow. We waited a long time for our food especially between courses. I would have thought more staff should have been working as the restaurant was very busy. It was still an enjoyable evening.
Marco Polo is a pleasant Italian restaurant in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. There is a surprisingly large dining space spread between rooms and floors. The food is very good and there is a wide selection. I cannot fault the service or level of hospitality, but this is certainly not a place to go if you're on a tight budget.

After a recommendation from a work colleague I decided to take me and my family for a meal out at this restaurant. Called to book a table in advance as it is a popular choice especially at the weekend. And it was certainly busy. The staff I spoke to on the phone where very friendly and efficient. The food is delicious at this restaurant. No question about it. The only issue we had was or main course took about an hour to arrive. Which gave us time to bond as a family but is still a bit of a wait. Although understandably busy. The food eventually came and I made the staff aware of my concerns about no one really apologising nor communicating the delay. From this point they turned things over and went the extra mile to ensure we where happy and taken care off. They apologized profusely. I do think it was just an oversight on their part on this occasion with the busyness so I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
There were olives and 2 sauces out when we sat down, garlic and chilli, some might prefer fresh ones brought at the time. To start we had the hummus which was nice, they swapped out the bread for cucumber and tomatoes to meet dietary requirements. They also reassured us that in around 1 months time the menu should reflect gluten and dairy free options...which in all fairness the waiter pointed out anyway and there was plenty of choice. The beetroot hummus wasn't as nice as the chilli one, the texture was less smooth. For the main we had the 'King' and chose the vermicelli rice. The king was a good mix of chicken, lamb, pork and beef...i think! By that I mean it was tough to decide what some of it was...not that it didn't taste really nice, it did. My only gripe was the pork was really dry, we didn't eat much of it. On a whole the meal satisfied. My apple juice was on the house! Cheers :) oh and no room for dessert.

Really lovely meal 5star service 5 star quality 5star surroundings! Will definitely go back can't fault a thing. Very very popular which is a good sign and lots of customers welcomed by first names lovely touch. Prices really good meal for 4 with drinks and extras £75! Not bad for a Saturday night and take away available. Really lovely night
A great Indian restaurant with attentive staff and a good range of dishes on the menus. Even with a party of 10 all food came at the same time for everyone. All starters served within 20 minutes and the mains followed at a reasonable time after. Very fairly priced

Came here 18 months ago when it had just opened. This is some of the best Indian restaurant I have visited. Delightful food with brilliant device and cobra on draught
A nice Indian restaurant with good quality food. It tastes more like homemade food. Host was also very welcoming. Will definitely visit again.

Visited Thursday evening and really enjoyed the meal and time we had. The food was excellent. The service by Oorja was outstanding as it was extremely helpful and friendly and gave of her time too. Look forward to visiting again.
My wife and I really enjoyed our meal here. She loved the masala dosa!

Great curry and excellent time had by all in our party. The place was buzzing and it’s not hard to see why. Good choice of drinks, with a large drinks/wine list. Good bar waiters too, who know their stuff. The meal was just great. We all tried different dishes, and everyone enjoyed it, so I think that’s enough said!
Delicious Indian food, excellent service! We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here at Raval. A lovely place to dine out at, with really delicious food. I enjoyed the lobster, which certainly lives up to its reputation. My wife enjoyed the lamb cutlets, which she didn’t stop enthusing about, how tender and succulent. I think I’ll insist on making this a regular place to celebrate every anniversary, or even more often than that. Thanks for a really enjoyable evening to the staff.

Lovely food and not badly priced. Very friendly and helpful staff. Arrived thinking we had tickets for the Theatre Royal, ordered thinking we had plenty of time. Turns out at the Tyne Theatre and had less time than we thought. Our server was great he asked the kitchen to speed our order through. Not bad for a high street restaurant chain.
The place was quiet compared to previous visits. We sat downstairs and were greeted quickly. The staff are great and are always cheerful and make guests welcome and looked after. The man dealing with my family and I today was great; cheering up my little one who was hyper/tired from the hot weather we've experienced today. We all enjoyed are meals which were promptly prepared and delivered. And the little one was given an activity pack to keep her entertained whilst waiting. The staff make the restaurant in my opinion.

Was in Newcastle for the weekend and was looking for lunch on the Sunday, can say this was an excellent choice, the staff were friendly, but the food for what we paid for it (two for £13.95) was lovely. My partner had calamari for starter and risotto for main, I had the baby ribs (scrummy) and the sea bass in lemon ( what, I don’t like lemon!) and it was one of the best meals we had had all weekend, and one of the cheapest, would definitely 110% recommend this place.
A very friendly and trendy looking Italian in Newcastle, offering a variety of meals. The atmosphere inside Prima is amazing, the staff are attentive and helpful, and the food is lovely. We ordered a starter and it was so huge we really should have left it at that! However we also ordered a main which was lovely. Prima restaurant do happy hour from 12-5 on Saturday which prices the majority of meals as £7 - definitely worth it!

When you first arrive at ASK Italian they give you shots of lemonade, the shot glass was a little dirty with what looked like garlic butter, but that was the only hygiene complaint of the night. Everyone enjoyed their meals, the pizzas and pastas are a very generous size. I unfortunately didn't enjoy my meal so ordered chips instead, and they were kind enough to take the original meal off our bill, as well as let another member of our party take the food home to eat later. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and somewhat relaxed, they didn't mind us lighting a homemade birthday cake on the table. The lady who served us was lovely which definitely added to the experience. The bill came to around £100 for 8 people (mains and some desserts), and a 10% service charge was automatically added. Overall, a really nice place, reasonably prices, would definitely go again.
Great customer service. Brilliant fresh food in every category and a big pure Italian menu to choose from. Very happy eating here

Simply the best cocktails in Newcastle. Exceedingly knowledgeable, creative and professional staff who know their craft and make a great drink. A fab and very independent atmosphere gives this bar a distinctive and inviting demeanour that cant be ignored. Pop in for a cocktail, a glass of wine or some beer. Either way you won’t be disappointed.
One of the best places for cocktails in Newcastle. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to choices. Excellent vibe. Excellent value.
77 Grey St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6EF, UK – 0191 261 2621
Quite a lively and loud bar in Grey Street opposite the Theatre Royal. Drinks area reasonably priced for the area. Music is varied but generally lively and putting you in the mood to dance. The age range of the drinkers and revellers is mixed, ranging between 20 and 50. The bar itself is split level. The lower area is seated just inside the front door and it’s quicker to get served at this bar as it’s quieter. The upstairs area is much bigger with an area to stand or dance. Can take a while to get served at this bar but no longer than normal in busy bars. Plenty of seating scattered about but they are often full at the weekends.
Saturday afternoon so the place was packed but luckily our table was booked! Bar staff very polite and our waitress was lovely, friendly and attentive even though it was very busy. Food lush and plenty of it. All round great place. Downstairs bar area very noisy but upstairs dining area relaxed.
88 Pilgrim St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6SG, UK – 0191 261 5656
All about the cocktails for me. They have a huge selection and they're delicious. A bit bonkers, but delicious. There aren't any 'classics' like a sex on the beach or cosmo but they're extremely well thought out. Atmosphere is always great. Staff always friendly. Highly recommended.
A fantastic place spanning three floors in the heart of Newcastle. The space has been made the most of, and there are plenty of cozy nooks to sit and drink in, as well as plenty of space for larger social gatherings. The outside area upstairs is heated and perfect for sitting outside but feeling like it's inside. The menu is diverse and delicious, as well as being creatively displayed as a prescription pack! Definitely will return for my next dose!
20 Stowell Street, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4XQ, UK – 0191 230 3288
Reasonably priced but service average and portions not that great
Possibly the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Newcastle. Dim Sum on a Sunday is a must. Hurry though, prices are going up and portions are shrinking, a sure sign this restaurant is going the way of those who used to be the best.
Stowell St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4YB, UK – 07815 606597
Had a lovely meal in the Landmark the staff are very pleasant and the restaurant is very nice and overall excellent .would recommend it. Definitely visit again .
One of the best Chinese restaurant my partner and I have been to.Lunch time special good value.
158 New Bridge St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 2ST, UK – 0191 232 2798
Quite different from your usual Chinese restaurants. Highly recommended and be prepared to try something out of the ordinary.
Fantastic and authentic. The twice cooked pork is a must. Rice is free refill!

Honestly, perhaps my favourite restaurant ever. The staff our lovely, the atmosphere is great, and of course the food is great. The first time I had the (vegan) ice cream here I had to call the waitress over because I was worried that they had given us the real deal because it was that good! If you're in Newcastle and want vegetarian, vegan, or some different food, definitely check this place out. You have to book online but the website is easy to find and easy to use. Would give it more stars if I could!
My cousin was visiting from New Zealand and is a very strict vegan. I wanted to make an effort and take her somewhere where she could get more than a bowl of bland veg. After some research and lots of reading of reviews I booked The Bohemian. Wow, I was so impressed!! As a carnivore, I was open minded but also a little sceptical that I could truly enjoy vegan food, I was so wrong, it was really delicious, tasty, fresh, filling. We all had different dishes but all thoroughly enjoyed them. The pudding, chocolate cookie, chocolate brownie, ice cream and chocolate sauce was to die for and I've never tasted better. Service was great, waiting staff friendly and very helpful. Casual but quirky setting where you weren't rushed. I can't recommend this place enough, well done to everyone involved, you're doing everything right x
27 Grainger St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 5JE, UK – 0191 447 3800
I was in the area for work and stumbled upon a nice, cosy little cafe that was all vegan. Thought I would try something new and was not disappointed. The staff is small in numbers but very kind. The cafe itself is medium in size with the front having comfy sofas and the rest being tables. Great selection of food and drink and very creative too. Love the artwork on the walls. A real treat for any vegan friends and have recommended it to them. Hopefully can come back next time
Friendly staff and good menu. Food was tasty £7 for a jacket spud is pushing it.
182 Heaton Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 5HP, UK – 0191 209 2571
Relaxed small cafe. Totally veggie - but even the most dedicated carnivor cannot but help enjoy the food. Good for catching up with friends as not too noisy or busy. Child friendly.
Well presented tasty food. I don't mind the low key rustic look but the bare wall acoustics make for a noisey room if you have a group of shouters in. If only those painted on clouds were cotton wool. Service is good. Food is so nice I would revisit without question.
1 Maling St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 1LP, UK – 0191 265 2550
Fantastic location. Well kept good range of beers. Friendly staff. Ticks all the boxes. Did I mention the fantastic location and good beer?
Wide selection of beer, both on tap and in bottles. Not cheap but decently priced. Tried the fries and onion rings which were decently priced and fairly large sizes, and were good. The reason for coming back would be because of the atmosphere, which is both chill and fun at the same time. Has outside seating that probably would be really nice, but no protection from rain outside. Would go again!
Half Moon Ln, Gateshead NE8 2AN, UK – 0191 478 2543
Proper old school real ale house. Good range of well kept beer. Friendly and welcoming. Well worth as visit.
Great little pub in Gateshead. Massive range of beers, good pub grub and a cosy atmosphere. The upstairs room is also an excellent resource for live music. The ease of access and low cost hire is ideal for grassroot bands and risky shows - they also have a lot that can be considered quite niche : from Goth, to abstract, to extreme and underground metal styles
39-47 Westgate Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 5SG, UK – 0191 261 5771
Real cosy place by Newcastle Station good coffee too which is rare for a bar. Would recommend
A really nice place with a cracking range of beers and friendly knowledgeable staff. I look forward to my next visit.
